The City of Albuquerque Sustainability Office focuses on implementing the 2021 Climate Action Plan, which emphasizes equity and partnership to address climate change and its impacts. It leads regional climate action planning across the Albuquerque Metro Statistical Area, supported by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's Climate Pollution Reduction Grants Program. The office undertakes actions to reduce the city's contributions to climate change and promotes a more sustainable future. Flourish and Shine Initiative is proud to partner with the City of Albuquerque to support and enhance these sustainability efforts.

The Dakota Tree Project aims to plant and maintain community trees and gardens in Albuquerque, focusing on low-income and high-temperature neighborhoods to address urban canopy inequities. They encourage community involvement through volunteer opportunities and educational programs that highlight the benefits of trees and the importance of addressing systemic inequities. The project also funds tree and garden initiatives in schools and disadvantaged areas, empowering youth and fostering comfortable environments. Flourish and Shine Initiative is honored to collaborate with The Dakota Tree Project to contribute to the tree canopy restoration of Albuquerque.

Meals on Wheels New Mexico is dedicated to combating hunger and isolation by delivering nutritious meals and providing wellness checks to individuals of any age in need. With over 50 years of experience, they offer various medically tailored diets, ensuring support for their clients' specific health requirements. The Flourish and Shine Initiative will partner with Meals on Wheels to enhance their mission by bringing fresh, locally grown foods to New Mexicans through the establishment of green spaces across the state. Together, they aim to improve food accessibility and promote a healthier lifestyle for the community.
